May contest. The theme was "Odd-colored Animals in the Springtime".
I've lived out west for a while, so I went with some Colorado wildlife (Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrel and Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel) for my image. Also I just love squirrels.
The animals were painted in watercolor/watercolor pencil and the background was done in Paint Tool Sai - mainly because I only have small sheets of watercolor paper and working any larger would have been a pain to photograph. XD
P.S., If anybody wants the original (blank background, 5"x7") watercolors of the squirrels, they ARE for sale - $20 each.
